Located in Lexington, North Carolina the Plant Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for CPM Wolverine Proctor, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable plant operations. This role directs all production, quality, maintenance, planning & logistics, safety, and supply chain functions, while partnering closely with Engineering and other corporate functions. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and environmental requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:
Located in Lexington, North Carolina the Plant Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for CPM Wolverine Proctor, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable plant operations. This role directs all production, quality, maintenance, planning & logistics, safety, and supply chain functions, while partnering closely with Engineering and other corporate functions. The Plant Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and environmental requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Provide day-to-day leadership for Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning & Logistics, Safety, and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow to meet customer commitments.
- Partner with Engineering on new product introductions, technical support, and process improvements.
- Lead execution of capital investment projects, facility improvements, and equipment upgrades.
- Manage plant P&L, ensuring financial targets for cost, productivity, and profitability are achieved.
- Develop and execute annual operating plans and multi-year strategic objectives in alignment with corporate goals.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture using Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices.
- Ensure effective inventory management, purchasing, and supplier performance through strong supply chain oversight.
- Champion a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company policies.
- Oversee quality management systems to maintain ISO standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Ensure proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and supervisors in direct reporting areas.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and collaboration across all functions.
- Partner with HR on performance management, succession planning, and workforce development.
- Promote open communication and positive labor/employee relations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through delivery of high-quality products and reliable service.
- Partner with Sales and Engineering to support customer-driven projects and initiatives.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process innovation and operational competitiveness.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
- In lieu of a degree, must have 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 5 years in plant or operations management.
- Demonstrated experience managing P&L and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong background in fabrication, machining, assembly, or engineered products manufacturing preferred.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, and supply chain operations.
- Proven application of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership and people development skills with ability to drive accountability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Proficiency in business management tools such as ERP systems, Project Management and Artificial Intelligence.
- Safety performance and compliance record.
- Achievement of plant financial targets (EBITDA, productivity, cost reduction).
- On-time delivery and product quality levels.
- Employee engagement, retention, and development.
- Continuous improvement impact and capital project execution.
- Ability to spend extended periods on the production floor, including standing and walking.
- Ability to occasionally climb stairs, bend, stoop, and reach in order to observe operations and inspect equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Tolerance for exposure to manufacturing environments including noise, dust, oil, heat, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands, projects, or critical business needs.
