Manufacturing Engineer

CPM has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer II in our manufacturing facility in Blenheim, Ontario. This is an opportunity to join a successful business with advancement opportunities. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented person with strong technical mechanical aptitude coupled with proficient organizational skills.
The manufacturing engineer position works across all die manufacturing processes to develop and implement common, cost-effective manufacturing processes, methods, and controls in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the role acts as a key resource to recommend new equipment and upgrades to meet collective production targets. The position coordinates with and leads manufacturing support personnel to launch improvements, manage projects, design and test tooling, methods, and equipment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Lead in the development of manufacturing systems with the focus on quality, reliability, and throughput of production equipment
- Work with Production, Sales, Product Design Engineering, Maintenance, and Purchasing to solve quality, delivery, and product performance issues
- Analyze equipment deficiencies and process elements for manufacturing improvements and recommend capital investments
- Identify new technology, capabilities, and/or continuous improvements to current processes and equipment
- Provides technical support for production machining, grinding, and heat treatment
- Select and optimize tooling for more efficient and cost-effective machining
- Standardize machining practices
- Establish and maintain control plans for manufacturing processes
- Train machine operators to standards and safe operation of new equipment
- Continuous improvement to better quality, lower cost, higher safety, and higher efficiency
- Communicate validation plans and changes with projects to ensure smooth transitions.
- Implements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in engineering from an accredited university
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts
- Understanding of engineering prints and operational drawings
- Ability to read, interpret, and manipulate engineering drawings
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate improvement ideas to diverse groups of peers and the leadership team.
- Understanding and knowledge of machining and manufacturing

- Multi-lingual (Mandarin preferred)
- Master's degree in technology/engineering
- Experience with manufacturing methods and systems
- Experience and understanding of machining principles and industry practices
- Experience with grinding, turning, machining centers and processes.
- CNC programming and knowledge of machine control systems.
Additional Information:
- Physical presence in the workplace is essential
- Overseas travel around 25% of time is required, with 50% travel required on occasions
- Ability to lift 25lbs and use step ladder
Annual Salary
- Based on experience - Starting $80,000
