JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of accounting and overview the tax compliance functions including local (BR GAAP/CPC’s) and US GAAP financial reporting; yearly budgeting process and monthly reforecasting; and cash management. In addition, directs all initiatives of process improvements and motivating teams to strive for high quality performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition, directs all initiatives of process improvements and motivating teams to strive for high quality performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage all aspects of accounting and overview the tax compliance functions (indirect and direct).
- Build, lead and develop a highly motivated and world-class team.
- Compile and distribute accurate monthly local and US GAAP financial statements and operational reports based on corporate guideline; ensure compliance with statutory regulations and legislation
- Develop together with the accounting provider an annual tax planning, including the realization of certain VAT tax receivables balances (ICMS and IPI), taking special attention to the corporate transfer policy. Generate weekly, quarterly and yearly reports per corporate policy.
- Analyze and evaluate project status quarterly or as needed by working with purchasing, engineering, and/or accounting to determine billing schedule, current/future costs, gross margins, equipment ship dates, startup and any potential contingency / issues; determine the revenue recognition based on the percent of complete method on a monthly basis.
- Maintain fixed assets and depreciate monthly; track CAPEX request, approvals and spending on new fixed assets.
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures; maintain monthly account reconciliation file including bridge from local to US GAAP.
- Review accounting procedures and processes to improve efficiency; ensure internal controls and maintain global standardizations.
- Enhance and protect the assets of the Company by thorough cash and currency exchange management; manage cash flow taking into account the timely remittance of dividends, when applicable.
- Manage banking relationships; obtain credit for financial guarantees required by customers.
- Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Company may enter; determine if customer is credit worthy
- Oversee yearly budget process; prepare local and US GAAP budget yearly; update reforecast monthly, explaining the main variances to the headquarter.
- Lead and prepare analytics for audits; respond to questions and additional requests in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS- Advanced degree in accounting, business, finance or a related field.
- Active CRC could be considered as a plus (Brazilian CPA)
- Sound BR GAAP knowledge including the latest CPC’s.
- Previous experience management POC contracts
- Good tax knowledge, including the indirect and direct tax legislation in force and also the local transfer pricing rules
- Five years of accounting and leadership experience, working hand-in-hand with the external accounting provider and external auditors as needed.
- Demonstrable experience in collaborating with cross-functional team, creating values for end customers, and driving operational excellence within areas of responsibility.
- Must be flexible, proactive, and able to drive change management
- Self manages; takes initiative and able to collaborate across geographies and functions in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Must be able to communicate in English fluently.
- Ability to use ERP / MRP systems, especially SAPB1, is highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft office skills.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 10% of the time
