- Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer demand while optimizing manufacturing capacity and material availability
- Forecast raw material requirements by analyzing production plans, inventory levels, historical usage, and anticipated demand fluctuations.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials and resources are available to support production schedules.
- Validate inter-warehouse transfers in SAP to ensure inventory accuracy and timely material availability.
- Analyze plant production schedules and SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) data to determine raw material requirements over a six- to eight-week planning horizon.
- Perform daily SAP system reviews and analyze key metrics to identify actual and potential material shortages, monitor order progress, and address material rejections, scrap, and rework.
- Ensure manufacturing operations have the necessary raw materials and components to meet production requirements and customer delivery commitments.
- Create and manage production work orders within the Sales & Operations (SSO) process as required.
- Ensure die cards and other required production documentation are available and accurate prior to manufacturing.
- Manage production backlogs for multiple manufacturing plants by maintaining accurate production dates and communicating schedule changes to stakeholders.
- Monitor production priorities and adjust schedules as necessary to respond to changes in customer demand, material availability, or manufacturing constraints.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency, inventory management, and production planning processes.
- Maintain accurate planning data within SAP and ensure system integrity to support effective production and inventory management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Knowledge of various ERP/MRP systems required
- Basic knowledge of the fundamental structure and workings of an MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and/or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
- Knowledge and experience in working with Suppliers, Freight and Rail carriers, and Purchasing personnel, strong understanding of Purchasing concepts and corporate directed goals
