Job Summary:
Under general direction, the Drafter provides project efforts from conceptual level in new and
existing projects for plant and pipe layouts, vessel fabrication, installation and assembly drawings, flowsheets, piping isometrics, and special sales work ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide design efforts from conceptual level through final design in new and existing products for plant and piping layouts, vessel fabrication, installation and assembly drawings, piping isometrics, and special sales work; ensure accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Adhere to drafting and design standards in all segments of Crown.
Work integrally with Sales, Engineering and Procurement to provide most efficient design to meet the process requirements.
Check drawings and calculations of others, verifying accuracy, as required.
Perform inspections to assure quality fabrication and scheduling; prepare accurate documentation as directed.
Maintain a proper project documentation filing system.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus a minimum of five years related experience or in lieu of degree, a minimum of ten years related experience.
Specific Skills
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers,customers, and vendors.
Able to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Able to apply principle of logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
Ability to understand and perform calculations used in drafting and design of required work.
Respond to requests and inquires from internal and external customers. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in Portuguese and desirably in English as well.
Ability to travel either internationally and domestically approximately 20-50%
of the time, depending on specific work load
Specialized Knowledge Licenses, etc
Required knowledge in AutoCAD and Plant3D or other 3D piping software
Preferred knowledge in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and Microsoft Office
Ability to prepare process building layouts, 3D piping, & 3D equipment design
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods.
Ability to bend and move about.
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger and hand dexterity required to manipulate objects.
Communication skills using the spoken word.
Ability to see within normal parameters.
Ability to hear within normal range.
Ability to physically lift and carry up to 10lbs.
