JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will develop new products, services, and processes with the Innovation department. Using advanced technologies, you will build and test prototypes in the lab and in the field, leading to commercial release.

As an R&D Controls Developer, you will manage your own projects and contribute to others involving PLC/logic/controls, IIoT/sensors, and electronics. This multi-disciplinary role involves equipment design and process optimization, focusing on sustainability, energy, automation, and data. You will have the freedom to use and expand your expertise and develop your skills.

Essential functions:
  • Develop, design and test control functionality and execution in close cooperation with multi-disciplinary R&D-team.
  • Take ownership and manage R&D-projects from definition, research, laboratory & customer tests, upto commercial
  • release.
  • Complete the actual PLC programming and HMI screen programming. Responsible for complete programming and
  • testing of project, as well as project documentation and equipment listing.
  • Support R&D-team through building of experimental and pilot test set-ups and joining in research and experiments;
  • Establish or participate in (multi-disciplinary) problem analysis and system design as required.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and study of requirements for integrated systems and complex single application programs.
  • Diagnose problems with installed equipment and provide field support to customer field test locations.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimally bachelor’s degree (‘HBO’) in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical background;
  • Preferred 2 to 4 years of work-related skills and experience;
  • Practical understanding and working capabilities with software like : Siemens TIA portal, Ignition, Eplan
  • Understanding of industrial process control systems using PLC and PC based architectures, IIoT and Cloud based
  • services;
  • Knowledge of related hardware or capability to coordinate (outsourcing of) electrical engineering;
  • Understanding of practical application of process technology and mechanical engineering;
  • Proactive, creative, hands-on and works independently as well as in a team;
  • Open to learning new techniques and technologies;
  • Good communication with other disciplines (Process, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering);
  • Good command of the English language and preferably Dutch (or willing to learn the latter)
  • Willingness and ability to occasional travel (mainly within Europe)
