JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction, the Designer is responsible for design efforts from conceptual level through final design in new and existing products for plant layouts, equipment fabrication and assembly drawings, and flowsheets ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using AutoCAD, develop and complete design drawings for new and existing equipment and processes including vessel fabrication details and assembly drawings, and process layouts, ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to established design standards and document control systems.
  • Perform calculations to determine accurate weights and volumes of drawn items.
  • Work integrally with Project Engineers/Managers to provide most efficient design to meet process and project requirements.
  • Assist with training and checking drawings and calculations to verify accuracy, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned. 

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • At a minimum - Associate degree from 2-year college or technical school.
  • 1-5+ years related experience or, in lieu of degree, 7+ years related experience.
  • Ability to understand and perform calculations used in drafting and design.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate directly with other designers, Designer Manager, and engineers to obtain information needed to complete work.
  • Demonstrates professional integrity and ethics.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
  • Able to manage a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be able to communicate in English fluently. Ability to communicate in a second language (European or Asian languages) preferred but not required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; able to understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicate technical information clearly and concisely. 
  • Required knowledge in 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Preferred knowledge in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
