Systems Administrator II
Position Overview: The Systems Administrator II is a key member of the IT department, responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, hardware, and networks. The role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft Azure and Office 365, with at least five years of enterprise experience in these platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot complex networking issues and work collaboratively on projects and open help desk requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure within the Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Proven experience setting up routers/switches.
- Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Ability to lead in a crisis situation and see it through resolution.
- Enhance and back security measures while possessing a solid grasp of Cyber Security protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues related to Microsoft Azure and O365, as well as other company-supported software and applications.
- Work closely with the IT team and other departments to help resolve complex networking issues.
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to help desk requests.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Work on IT projects as assigned by the management team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military training in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 in large environments.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting complex networking issues including routing and switching.
- Proven experience with Active Directory and Azure AD, Group Policy, Windows Server technologies. Experience with VDI, DLP and SAP preferred.
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Virtual Box).
- Experience with monitoring systems and IT service management tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on working well with others.
- This is an onsite position and some travel may be required.
- Professional certifications in Microsoft Azure and/or Office 365 are highly desirable.
