The Desktop Level I position is responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, and assisting with various IT-related tasks. This role requires an understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
Key Responsibilities- What will you do?:
- Technical Support: Respond to user inquiries, diagnose problems, mage computers and assist users with setting up their computers and necessary peripheral devices (printers, docking stations, monitors, mice, keyboards, headsets, etc.).
- Hardware and Software Maintenance: Check computer hardware to ensure functionality. Install and configure appropriate software according to specifications.
- User Account Management: Set up new user accounts and profiles. Add/Disable/Modify users in Active Directory (AD) and Office 365 following CPM workflows.
- Security and Privacy: Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems. Monitor and update license usage.
- Troubleshooting: Perform hardware troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, installing drivers, etc.). Windows troubleshooting and resolving most common OS issues.
- Documentation and Training: Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment. Create and maintain documentation for IT policies, procedures, and user guides.
- Project Assistance: Assist with site assessments and acquisitions by gathering, identifying, and documenting information at new acquisition sites. Manage projects affecting single sites with assistance, including communications with local site leaders.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to work full time onsite, this is not a remote position.
- Monitor support tickets via software and escalate support tickets.
- Answer Technical Support phone calls.
- Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem.
- Work with Azure 365 Admin Center / Exchange Admin Center.
- Install and configure appropriate software according to specifications.
- Image computers and set up new user accounts and profiles.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Provide guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
- Assist with writing documentation on technical subjects both for the IT team to use as references as well as for end users.
- Assist with replacing old IT equipment on a regular basis
- Assist the Infrastructure and Applications teams with projects as needed.
- Minimal international travel, less than 10%
- Secondary vocational education (MBO) or a minimum of an Associate degree from an accredited college in the field(s) of: Computer Science, Informational Technology or Management Information Systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Knowledge of Remote Desktop, VPN and other mobile technologies.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication ability (in Dutch and English preferred).
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
- Ability to document IT problems and solutions for reference later.
- Ability to keep things simple and not overthink certain technical problems that require simple solutions.
