Job Summary:
CPM is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive productivity, quality, and process improvements cross-functionally in our business, with a focus on operations.  This role is responsible for analyzing processes, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, and implementing Lean methodologies.  They will collaborate with cross functional teams to enhance our performance, reduce waste, and ensure operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our processes, reduce costs, and create a safer work environment
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement tools to enhance workflows and eliminate waste
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, Strategy Deployment (SD), visual management systems (VMS), and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with a defined follow up practice/procedure for outstanding requests
  • Analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to increase efficiency and productivity
  • Create documentation for key processes through Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI), Process Maps, Value Stream Maps, and Microsoft video
  • Train and mentor employees on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices
  • Be willing to travel to CPM and customer sites both domestically and internationally for customer/employee training, seminars, kaizens as needed
  • Communicate with supervisor on assignment progress, outstanding issues, continuous improvement opportunities, and kaizen events, and as required to promote company values, and financial objectives
  • Perform additional related duties as needed or assigned
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner with both customers and colleagues 


Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in business, engineering or technical field preferred.  Equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service, sales support, or project management experience a plus
  • High integrity and ethics
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Have a working and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems similar to SAP.
  • Have or have the ability to obtain green belt or lean black belt certification
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
  • Ability to travel as needed, possible international travel.
