We invite you to become part of the CPM Europe team. Our projects department is currently looking for an additional hands-on mechanical expert to commission our machines at client locations.

As our organization continues to expand, we are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.

Key responsibilities- What will you do? 

CPM Europe's sales operations encompass the production, delivery, commissioning, and servicing of various types of industrial machinery, with clients spread across the globe. As a result, many of our sales and service personnel regularly work abroad.

In the role of Commissioning Engineer, you will oversee the installation and startup processes of CPM equipment and systems at customer locations. You will coordinate activities on-site, troubleshoot issues during the startup phase, and transfer operational and maintenance knowledge of CPM machines to the client's team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Travel to the Client's industrial factory site by arrangement, to Inspect installations and Start up machinery in factory production lines.
  • Verify that the installation of the equipment has been installed correctly and perform mechanical, electrical and controls checks in accordance with CPM installation and delivery documentation.
  • Ensure the agreed contractual requirements are followed through, in a practical way to ensure Safe operation of the CPM equipment and systems so that they can reach the agreed production capacity and product quality requirements.
  • Follow and record the machinery details using the company installation and Test checklists and procedures.
  • List and where possible, resolve any problems that occur while setting up the production line.
  • Prepare progress reports on the commissioning, and provide this information to the different departments.
  • Attend site project meetings and prepare and complete commissioning reports and  handover protocols .
  • Evaluate the installation work with the help of drawings, electrical diagrams and process documentation of CPM machines or the complete production line at the client site.
  • Verify that the necessary spare parts / machinery and tools are on hand, as well as the fittings the customer has installed for setting up the machine / production line.
  • Most of the work is carried out on the client's premises. You must be prepared to travel internationally on a regular basis.
  • Ability to travel and work alone to multinational industrial site locations.  Ability to overcome language and cultural.
  • Follow Company and Client site safety procedures, ensuring to take the necessary safety precautions.
  • Check the machine or production line assembly and ensure correct installation of all the necessary connections and systems.
  • As necessary advise and delegate tasks to the customer’s (assistant) technicians and the workers hired on site.
  • Start up and perform a test run of the machine or production line. Assist with production capacity test as contractually required.
  • Resolve problems found during installation, followed by startup testing and production test runs on site with the resources available there.
  • Transfer knowledge of the machine, installation, the use and maintenance of the machine or production line to the client operations and or maintenance team.

Job requirements- What do you need?
Description of qualities required for the role:
  • Strong mechanical mind and educational background, coupled with a basic knowledge of industrial electrical installations and machine control systems.
  • Practical experience with mechanical operation, maintenance of heavy industrial machinery is a basic requirement. This, coupled with a working knowledge of electric motor drive and electrical control systems, is a secondary ability. No electrical testing or controls programming experience or practice is required as part of the role.
  • Ability to understand, operate, and maintain manuals, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience of working with different equipment operating systems, such as electric, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems) The installed machinery is expected.
  • Friendly personality with good communication skills, calm nature. Ability to get the job done efficiently and effectively, while balancing the sometimes conflicting pressures of client and company.
  • Ability to travel and work alone while keeping a good communication connection to the office and other site team colleagues.
  • Reasonable literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate with the client and the Internal organisation to achieve the best outcome for both parties.
  • Ability to understand the customer’s production process, to ensure that the machine functions, and knowledge of materials to be able to analyze and resolve problems/failures.
  • Ability to systematically analyze issues occurring during the work and to advise on their resolution.
  • Knowledge of the applicable ARBO (safety, health and welfare), environmental regulations, and the Working Hours Act, for safe working in industrial environments.
  • Applicants must have the right to live and work in Northern Europe as CPM is not providing visa sponsorship for this role
Minimum Required education:
  • MBO plus (secondary vocational education) and 3-5years of relevant work experience.
  • English and beneficial if native in another European language.

Terms of employment- What's in it for you?
  • Full-time employment. Permanent contract, following successful completion of a preliminary 1-year probationary contract.
  • Monthly Salary and overtime payments if applicable.
  • 27 vacation days + 13 ATV days (so a total of 40 days off!)
